Abigail's Tea Room in Boston, MA

Below is the tea room sign affixed to an exterior wall of the museum.

Two college/university students cheerfully greeted us on the porch leading to the tea room.

Abigail's is not a formal tea room.  You choose your food selections from the black board seen below and it's brought to your table.   It's very child friendly.

We arrived later in the afternoon, well past lunch hour, so we practically had the tea room to ourselves.  We selected our tea from one of five urns at the tea station.  Choices were Congou and Bohea [both black teas], Singlo [green tea], Lapsang Souchong, and a tisane.

The tea room is named for Abigail Adams.

Jerry selected Lapsang Souchong for his first cup, but it was too smokey for his taste, so he switched to Congou.  He chose a raspberry scone with jam, and I got blueberry with clotted cream.

We both ordered clam chowder with a turkey and cheese sandwich on sour dough bread.  It was yummy!

Next post will be about our visit to the the Boston Tea Party Museum.

  3. I think it is wonderful that there's a tearoom dedicated to this former First Lady. Those scones look delicious and I enjoyed reading about this spot.
