Sunday Reflection...

Today is my firstborn child's birthday, Lori Annette.  I thank God for her life everyday, and am so grateful He gave her to me.

I baked some tea breads [pumpkin, banana and lemon poppy seed] and took them to the pediatric clinic where she works last week for the staff to enjoy in celebration of her birthday.  I also took her favorite tea - French Caramel Creme Brulee.

We gave her two Alex and Ani bracelets with daughter and August birthstone [Peridot] charms. 

The daughter charm symbolizes:  "A daughter fills the world with beauty.  She brings new life and embodies a dream of possibility for the future.  The purity of a lilac is also associated with the first discovery of love, much like a mother's sentiment towards her daughter..." 

It brings me so much pleasure to do things for my daughter, and as I do I'm reminded of the verse in Matthew 7:11 "If you then, who are evil [sinful by nature] know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!" [NIV]
