The Darkest Hour

We've been watching episodes of The Crown on Netflix this week, so it seemed a natural sequence to see the biographical war drama film, The Darkest Hour, at the theater this past Wednesday afternoon.

It was released on November 22nd, but just came to theaters in my area recently.  It's a true story that takes place at the brink of WWII when Winston Churchill had just become Prime Minister of Great Britain, and was faced with the turbulent decision of exploring peace treaty negotiations with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of his nation.

The only tea in the picture might possibly have been on Churchill's breakfast tray because he was known to drink a quart of spirits throughout the day.

It was a great historical movie and I recommend it.
